 Experience:

Prior to 2020, S2B Lead Business Strategist worked within strategic leadership and management for many years. The remit of work included leading

on developing and implementing infrastructure, horizon scanning and bold business growth, prospects research, bidding and successes, policy development, workforce strategy responsive to changing priorities, quality improvement, audit compliance, financial modelling and risk management, market gap analysis, influencing programme development through strategic partnerships and collaborations, and leveraging social impact outcomes to develop programmes and sustainable funding models with stakeholders (including funders and private businesses) to deliver greater social impact.

Landscape:

The landscape for many organisations and businesses changed in 2020. S2B’s focus since 2020 has been on building the capacity of black, small and minoritised organisations for sustainability. Over 150 organisations across England have been engaged in one-to-one tailored and interactive consulting sessions to address challenges, build resilience, develop and implement appropriate actions including the provision of practical tools for organisational development and leadership empowerment. Over 120 organisations (leaders and managers) have been impacted through interactive virtual workshops to acquire knowledge and practical tools.

Ecosystem:

We are striving towards establishing a business ecosystem; a network of organisations including funders, commissioners, customers, competitors, infrastructure organisations, community providers, government agencies, and others involved in the capacity building of black, small and minoritised organisations and service delivery through both competition and cooperation. We recognise that each entity in the ecosystem affects and is affected by the others, creating a constantly evolving relationship in which each entity must be flexible and adaptable to survive as in a ecosystem.
